Reporting injured native wildlife?
Please do not email us. Call our 24/7 hotline
We'll get to the animal as soon as we possibly can and do everything we can to rehabilitate it or, when necessary, limit its suffering.
Wildcare rescues, raises, rehabilitates and releases native wildlife in the NSW area surrounding the ACT. Our area covers from North Bredbo to Doughboy, Yass, Young, Cowra and Cootamundra, that's over 22,000 square kilometres. (click here for map)
We are 100% volunteer operated. No ongoing handouts, no government favours and no huge sponsorships (although if you'd like to change that we'd love to hear from you). You can see why we appreciate the support you give us. As a registered charity and not-for-profit organisation we can give you a tax deductable receipt for all donations of $2 or more. Our carers and rescuers are passionate about native wildlife and trained in its handling and care.
Help our wildlife survive the drought & bushfires
Temperatures are soaring and water hollows, streams and dams are drying out.
Please leave water out in shallow bowls for our native friends – place them in a shady area. Put small rocks or sticks in the bottom of some bowls to let smaller animals get in and out. Set up and fill birdbaths.
Wildcare is keen to support the community to help our wildlife affected by bushfire. If your property has been burnt (or you know someone in that situation) and you are in need of feed for the wildlife on your property; and/or need water containers for water; please email your name, address & contact number to firstname.lastname@example.org.
A unique way you can help get food out to Wildlife affected by bushfire. It is community project that everyone can be involved. Wildlife is struggling to get access to food and water in fire -affected areas and habitat will take months to recover.
Donate at collection points (see below) by purchasing a bag(s) of pellets or bag(s) of native bird seed, which can be put into a collection bin. Go to the store, or call & pay over the phone.
Members of the public who have been affected by the bushfires can then collect some food (bring bags or containers and introduced the feed in appropriate places for affected wildlife.
Instructions are at the collection points, or contact 6299 1966 for advice. Collection points available:
